How to Make Delicious Almond Milk in Just 15 Minutes

Almond Milk Recipe

Almond Milk

Prep/cook time: 15 minutes; makes 6 cups

You’ll need a special fine-mesh bag (called a nut milk bag) to sieve the almond milk through. Also, make sure your blender can handle the nuts; a Vitamix is an excellent choice. Best drunk within a few hours, but will keep one to two days. Some people soak the almonds for 8 hours before they make the almond milk.

The nice thing about making your own almond milk is that you get it absolutely fresh and without the added chemicals that even the organic brands have.

1. Put almonds in a blender. Add water.

2. Blend at high speed until the almonds are finely ground in the water; about 6 minutes.

3. Pour the almond milk through a fine mesh bag placed over a large glass measuring cup or a bowl; squeeze gently until all the almond milk is out.

4. Pour almond milk into a container and refrigerate immediately.

5. Compost the leftover almond meal.
